Product Overview
dBOrganiser is a database organisation tool designed for application developers, IT professionals and end-users.
dBOrganiser allows you to easily manage the objects contained in a database. Tables and queries (if the database supports queries)
for two databases are displayed alongside each other in a split screen.
The two displayed databases can be either a Jet database or an external database. The Jet database engine is used by such
applications as Microsoft Access. External databases are used in other applications such as dBase, Paradox, Microsoft Excel, ODBC
databases and many others.
With dBOrganiser you can rename, delete, import or export a table from one database to another. When moving data from one database
type to another, the data is automatically converted.
dBOrganiser is designed to be used both as a stand alone application, suitable for the database user or developer. The functionality
of this application is now available as an ActiveX control as part of our Jetpack product. Used as a
control it extends the capabilities of any Jet database application, such as a Visual Basic application. Adding dBOrganiser features,
such as exporting to other applications (eg Microsoft Excel), to an existing database application, gives the developer greater
functionality, with a focus on user-friendliness, at a minimal cost.
dBOrganiser also incorporates dBMaint, which includes some very powerful database utility
functions that allow you to backup, repair, compact or convert a database from an earlier to a later version. dBMaint as a standalone
application is available for free from Chisel Software and provides a convenient command-line mode of
operation that lends itself to batched database maintenance operations. dBMaint is also available as an ActiveX control as part of our Jetpack
product.
