QUERYer v4.1
 |
 |
Product Overview
QUERYer is a database administration tool designed for application developers, IT professionals and end-users.
Using the industry-standard Microsoft Jet engine for data storage QUERYer can access data from either an ODBC database such as SQL
Server that resides on a remote server, or one of the external databases such as Paradox, dBASE, FoxPro or Excel. In fact QUERYer can
access any ODBC-based databases, or installable ISAM databases on any platform without requiring the native applications to be
installed.
Creating databases, tables and queries has never been so simple. Searching, filtering, sorting, analysing, importing/exporting,
reporting and much more is available with just a few clicks of the mouse. Create fully-functional spreadsheets and other formats
directly from your relational databases. Use relational database techniques to explore new possibilities for your spreadsheet
applications!
QUERYer is designed as a stand alone application, suitable for the database user or developer. The many features of QUERYer are also
available to the Visual Basic developer as a set of ActiveX controls. These controls are available separately, or as a multiple control,
called Jetpack. By adding QUERYer features such as table design, visual query, data import/export,
data zoom and reporting to existing database applications, the developer adds greater functionality, with a focus on user-friendliness,
to their program at a minimal cost.

Features
Replaces QUERYer 3.2
QUERYer v4.1 includes all of the functionality in 3.2 and much more.
16 and 32-bit Support
QUERYer v4.1 is a 32-bit application and will only run on 32-bit platforms such as Windows 95/98 or Windows NT. The previous version
of QUERYer (3.2) is still available as a 16-bit or 32-bit application.
There are several versions of Microsoft Jet databases coinciding with the various versions of Microsoft Access.
The following table shows which version of Jet is supported by QUERYer.

One of the advantages of QUERYer has over Microsoft Access is the inbuilt support for previous versions of the database. For example
QUERYer v4.1 works quite happily with all versions of Microsoft Access databases up to Access 2000.
Easy to use graphical interface for your query
QUERYer features a user oriented interface for your database operations. You will be able to extract complex data from a relational
database with ease. Select, filter and sort your data with the click of a mouse. No knowledge of query languages is required. QUERYer
will translate your user actions into SQL language. Its open architecture allows you to work directly with SQL to add your own
extensions. New powerful data presentation capabilities in QUERYer allow query results to be presented clearly and intuitively.
Transparent structure for your relational database
QUERYer maintains data in tables. Those tables can be internal tables or links to external tables, such as a spreadsheet or a dBase file
or even a table in an ODBC database such as SQL Server or ORACLE. Regardless of the source of data QUERYer lets you create queries that
relate this diverse data transparently.
Query parameters
If you use values for filtering that change often you can use query parameters (eg. "author = [topseller]" ). You
will be prompted for their values through a dialog box whenever you execute the query.
Real-time query results
As soon as you execute your query you will be able to view the results in the Datasheet window.
Connectivity
QUERYer fully supports ODBC and ISAM data sources.
As long as there is the appropriate ISAM or ODBC driver installed QUERYer supports a wide range of data formats such as Btrieve, dBase,
FoxPro, Paradox, Excel, Text, SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, Informix, Sybase, Interbase, ...
Speed
Superior data handling technology allows QUERYer's Datasheet to retrieve and display data faster and more efficiently than many
other database tools on the market.
Documentation
QUERYer includes very thorough online help files, SQL tutorials, and support material on our web-site.
Simple Reports Interface
QUERYer allows users to instantly print formatted data from the Datasheet. End users can quickly change simple report formats
without going through a complex report designer. This interface provides QUERYer users unsurpassed efficiency for ad-hoc database report
creation.

Chisel Software has a strong commitment to total product quality and functionality.
